YONIQUE

YONIQUE is coming.

Yonique is in the initial stages of becoming an experiential art installation: a gentle, self-led space where you can engage as much or as little as you wish.

I am in the very first phase of creating it, and right now I'm gathering the founding pieces that will become the heart of the installation.

Before the doors open… before the room fills with women quietly sitting, reading, wandering and recognising themselves in each other's words and images… the collective body of the work needs to begin.

That's why I'm asking for contributions now.

Yonique is being created as a space you can enter without pressure, performance or expectation. A place to come and spend time with the truth of your body in your own way.

You might sit with a cup of tea and read. You might walk around and look. You might feel something shift internally without saying a single word. You might return more than once. Everything about it is choice-led. You might come with a friend or colleague - or a self-journey.

All around the room will be real offerings from women — letters, drawings, paintings, the language we were given about our bodies and the language we are choosing for ourselves — so that the moment you step inside you know, in your body, that you are not alone and that nothing is wrong with you - and vitally - nothing has ever been 'wrong' with you.

These first contributions will form a living, growing installation that can travel, be rehung, and continue to evolve as more women add their voices over time. This is slow, real, collective work made from lived experience.

To begin this phase I'm inviting you - if it feels right for you - to create a piece to contribute. This might be a letter to your yoni, or a letter from your yoni back to you.

It could be a drawing or painting of your yoni with the words it has been called, and the words you now choose for yourself.

Yoni is the Sanskrit word for vagina.

You do not need to be "good" at art. This is not about skill or performance. Honest, simple and real is what Yonique needs. For the work to sit together as one collective installation, and to allow it to travel and grow, I'm asking that all pieces are created on a square of paper - no bigger than 10 x 10 inches square — paper, or lightweight card.

Every piece that is offered will be received with love and deep respect.

I understand the trust it takes to send something so personal, and each contribution will be carefully held, honoured, and placed within the installation with great care. If you choose to send a piece, it will become part of the visible Yonique field — something that will be witnessed by others.

You can be anonymous or add the name you would like to be identified by.

Please only offer something you feel comfortable for others to see, as I'm not able to return or store private submissions.

Everything received becomes part of this evolving archive. If you would like to send a piece, please message me for the postal address here in the UK.

If you live locally and know me, please don't hesitate to drop your precious contribution off to me.

I'll be opening these quiet, local, studio-style days where you will be able to come and experience the space as it grows - to sit, read, look, have a cup of tea, and be part of the atmosphere in your own way.

In this early phase it is about calling in the voices, images and words that will make the installation what it is.

There is absolutely no pressure to contribute. You will be just as welcome to come and experience the space when the doors open. I will keep you posted.

But if something in you stirs as you read this - if you feel the pull to place your voice into this collective body - I would love to receive your creativity and/or letters.

These first offerings are the beginning of the field. This is how Yonique starts.

AND... Honouring Our Yoni days continue as a 1-2-1 experience with me in my studio. This can happen as a one day event or spread over two half days. You can choose, you know your body, your health, your diary.
