WHAT KIND OF TREE AM I?

Make a bright, beautiful Tree that tells the story of who you are.

What Kind of Tree Am I? is a guided online creative therapy course, created by me from my experience as both an artist and a therapist.

As we work together, you will gradually create your Tree using my simple process.

You will explore where you have come from, who you are now and the hopes and dreams you hold for your life.

I accompany you throughout a series of videos. You can watch, listen, pause whenever you need to and work entirely at your own pace.

You do not need to be an artist, and you do not need to know how to draw or paint.

You cannot possibly get anything wrong, and your Tree will not look like anybody else’s. It will be entirely your own.

£39

You will receive one year’s access to the complete course, all the accompanying videos and the private group.

THE TREE IS SIMPLY THE SYMBOL

This is not really about making a picture of a Tree. It is about what your Tree might teach you, show you and say to you as she comes into being.

Your Tree becomes a way of exploring you.

We move through your Background, your Roots, your Trunk and your Branches.

Where have I come from?

What has shaped me?

What holds me?

Who am I now?

What do I want, and what don’t I want?

What matters to me?

Where am I growing?

What do I want to say YES to, and where do I need to find my NO?

We are not going to sit and THINK our way through all of those questions. That is really important.

Instead, we are going to make room for your intuition, your Body Wisdom.
Your hands choose, your fingers create and your Tree gradually emerges.
We then listen to what she has to say.

Your Tree may become a beautiful piece of art, but her appearance is not the most important part.
What matters most is what you discover while creating her and what she comes to hold for you.

Over the years, I have watched women find their voices through their Trees. I have watched them discover strength they had not quite recognised in themselves and become clearer about what they want and what they absolutely do NOT want.

I have also watched women lean on their Trees when they needed reminding of who they are.

The Tree is the symbol, but the voice we are making room for is YOURS.

YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED TO BE ABLE TO DRAW A TREE

Please do not worry about whether you can make a Tree that looks like a Tree.

I am not going to teach you how to draw or paint one, and there is no artistic standard that you need to reach.
You do not need to think of yourself as creative.

You will use simple materials you feel drawn towards. You can tear, cut, glue, scribble, paint, cover things over and change your mind as often as you need to.

My videos guide you step by step through the whole process while you watch me creating my own Tree.
Gradually, your Tree will begin to grow in her own unique and individual way.

We will not know what she is going to look like until she emerges, and I will never teach you how to make her look “right”.

She might become bright and beautiful, wild, strange, delicate, unruly or completely unlike anything you have ever created before. However, I know she will speak of who you are and the life you have lived.

This is about discovering YOUR Tree, and I cannot wait to meet her.

WHAT DO I MEAN BY BODY WISDOM?

There is nothing mysterious about Body Wisdom. It begins when we stop trying to think our way through everything and start noticing what we are naturally drawn towards.

What do I want?

What don’t I want?

What feels right for me?

Throughout What Kind of Tree Am I? I will gently help you move away from planning, analysing and trying to get everything “right”.
Instead, you will begin by noticing which colours, images and materials your fingers want to choose.

You might look at something you have created and suddenly recognise something about yourself. This could be a quiet realisation, a feeling of strength or a much clearer understanding of what you want to say YES to and where you need to say NO.

Your Tree can support you in finding your voice and help you look at the problems and decisions in your everyday life from a different angle.

She may not give you one neat answer, but the process can create enough space for you to hear your own answers more clearly.

Those answers are not given to you by me. They emerge through your own hands, your own choices, your own experience and your own knowing.

That is what I mean by giving our Body Wisdom a voice, and it is what I love about this process.

I’LL BE ALONGSIDE YOU

You will not be left alone with a pile of art materials, wondering what on earth you are supposed to do next.

I have created a series of warm and encouraging videos to accompany you as your Tree gradually comes into being.
You can put me beside you while you create, and I will be making my own Tree too, talking you through each stage and offering gentle invitations and little nudges along the way.

These are not "art demonstrations" that you are expected to copy, although you absolutely can copy something I do if it helps you begin.
That is one of the ways we learn.

In my experience, no matter how much we try to copy somebody else, our own Tree finds her way through. Your Tree will be completely yours.

You will also be invited into our private group. The group is ongoing, so women will join and create their Trees at different times.

You can share photographs as your Tree grows, tell us what you are noticing, ask questions and celebrate your discoveries. You can also tag me if you want me to see something you have shared.

You may simply need to arrive and say, “Kas, I haven’t got a bloomin' clue what I’m doing.”

That is completely welcome too, and I can help you find your way through the process.

This is gentle, light-touch accompaniment. We are not going digging for trauma or deeply analysing everything that appears, and I will never interpret your Tree for you.

I may know this process very well, but you are the person who knows your Tree better than anyone else.

I am here to accompany you, encourage you, wonder with you and celebrate as she comes into being. I absolutely love that part.

NO TWO TREES ARE EVER THE SAME

I first created What Kind of Tree Am I? in 2008.
I have accompanied many women through the process, both in person and online.

I never get bored with it because no two Trees are ever the same.

I can offer exactly the same invitation to a whole group of women and watch completely different Trees begin to emerge.
There have been wild Trees, tiny Trees, Trees with enormous Roots and Trees covered in words, paint, scraps of paper, glitter, creatures and things I could never have imagined.

Those Trees did not come from my imagination. They emerged through the intuition, hands and creative choices of the women who made them.

Over the years, I have watched women fall completely in love with their Trees and discover things about themselves that they had not recognised when they began.

Some continued adding to their Trees long after they thought they had finished.

Other women returned to create another Tree because they wanted to discover what a new Tree might show them now, at a different point in their lives.

We change, our lives change and what needs our attention changes. A Tree created today will not necessarily be the same Tree we would have created several years ago.

That is one of the reasons I have created this new 2026 version of What Kind of Tree Am I?

When I began creating the Tree you see at the top of this page, as always, I had no idea what she would become.
I allowed her to emerge gradually, just as I will invite you to do with your own Tree.

That is how this process works best.
I will also be there in the group whenever you need a little encouragement or a gentle nudge.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Enrolment is open now, and What Kind of Tree Am I? begins Sunday 11 October 2026.

You can join from anywhere in the world. The complete process will be available from the day the course opens, so you will not have to wait for a new stage to be released each week.

If you join after 11 October, you will receive access as soon as you enrol.

You will have my prerecorded videos to watch or listen to while you create, together with written prompts, invitations, encouragement and gentle nudges along the way.

You will also be invited into our private group, where you can share your Tree as she emerges, talk about what you are discovering and ask for a little nudge if you get stuck.

There are no live sessions that you need to attend, and you do not have to be available at a particular time or try to “keep up” with anybody else.

It is important that we do not race against ourselves. You can work through the process at your own pace, take a break whenever you need one and return when you are ready.

You will have access to the complete What Kind of Tree Am I? experience for one full year.

You might complete one Tree during that time, continue adding to her for months or find yourself wanting to return to the process and create another.

The complete experience is £39.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

Nothing terribly fancy.

You will need something to create your Tree on and a collection of art materials to play with.

I don’t want you to feel distracted by the materials you see me using. You do not need to use the same things as me, and you certainly do not need to buy everything before you begin.

You might already have paints, craft papers, oil pastels, felt pens or sharpies, tissue paper, wrapping paper, old magazines, glue, glitter or scraps of fabric.

Words, photographs, beads, buttons and other little bits and pieces can also become part of your Tree.

The most useful things are often the ones that make your heart sing or make you think…

“Oooohhhh… I want THAT!”

I will give you some simple guidance before we begin, so you will know what you might like to gather around you.

WHAT MIGHT YOUR TREE HAVE TO SAY TO YOU?

I cannot wait to see what emerges.

Are you coming or wot?

Love

Kas
