Woman: The Visible, The Hidden, The Emerging

Goddess-of-Fire-blog-pic

There are paintings hanging on women's walls that once stood hidden behind doors.

Women come here to paint with me and eventually laugh that they have no more room left on their walls.

Yet some canvases spend months turned to the wall because something in them got stuck, or because they cannot yet bear to fully look at what emerged there.

The painting carries something emotionally loaded and difficult.

Shame.
Visibility.
Fear.
Something unresolved and alive that they are not yet ready to get alongside.

Some paintings are left here with me in the studio until they feel ready to return.

Not necessarily to complete them perfectly, but simply to attend to them as much as they can in that moment, as more of themselves slowly emerges.

Then perhaps we have a Zoom call together and something comes alive inside of her again.

She picks up the hidden canvas and finally completes it.

And she loves it.

This is the kind of work I am interested in.

Work where nothing is forced.
No-one is pressured into visibility before they are ready.
No-one needs fixing.

But instead, spaces are created where something hidden can slowly emerge because it finally feels safe enough to breathe.

So much of women's lives are spent adapting.

Adapting to husbands.
Children.
Mothers.
Workplaces.
Expectations.
Relationships.
Roles.

Many women become extraordinarily competent at holding everything together while quietly losing contact with parts of themselves that once felt alive.

Their desire becomes hidden.
Their creativity becomes hidden.
Their rage becomes hidden.
Their sensuality becomes hidden.
Their grief becomes hidden.
Their bigness becomes hidden.

And often they have spent years hearing, directly or indirectly, that they are simply too much.

Too emotional.
Too intense.
Too sexual.
Too loud.
Too sensitive.
Too needy.
Too ambitious.
Too expressive.
Too alive.

Eventually many women learn to make themselves smaller in order to remain acceptable.

But the tragedy is that aliveness shrinks too.

The Paintings Are Portals

This is why the work I do is not really about painting.

What I actually care about is helping women gradually reconnect with the parts of themselves they had to hide, restrain or abandon in order to survive, belong or remain loved.

I have watched women come here and slowly begin taking up more space.

Not in a performative way.
Not in a loud "be empowered" way.

But bodily.
Emotionally.
Creatively.

A five-foot canvas asks something very different of a woman than a small polite piece of paper does.

It asks for movement.
Reach.
Gesture.
Presence.
Visibility.

Some women arrive here deeply adapted to everyone else's needs, comfort and expectations.

Then slowly, over time, something starts flickering back to life inside them.

One woman recently said to me during a Zoom call:

"I'm looking for my next project."

That sentence stayed with me because to me she was really saying:

"I have found a part of myself I do not want to lose again."

That matters.

My Work Is Relational

Women are not left alone inside their process. They are met, responded to and accompanied, whether over Zoom or in my studio with me. This is one of my greatest strengths and one of the things women consistently speak about.

Many women who participate in my online experiences, tell me that when they watch my videos they feel as though they are sitting in the studio with me.

Others speak about finally feeling able to breathe, create, feel or express themselves without pressure to perform or conform.

There is structure within my spaces but there is also freedom.

Some may need to reconnect with the child within them.
Others with grief.
Others with erotic aliveness.
Others with the hidden self.
Others with their sovereignty and Goddess.

We circle and circle and circle through these territories.

Not because transformation is failing to happen, but because real transformation is rarely linear.

Women revisit themselves from deeper and deeper places over time.

And eventually something changes so profoundly that there is no going back.

Not because life becomes perfect, but because once a woman has experienced herself as more alive, more visible, more creative, more connected and more inhabitable to herself, she can no longer fully return to the old deadened state in the same unconscious way.

The Constellations of Woman

This is the heart of the work now emerging more fully.

The Constellations are not separate modules to complete correctly. They are twelve mirrors reflecting different territories of womanhood and selfhood.

Womb I Came From

Inner Child

The Tree Process

My Own Womb / Creative Source

Grief and Loss

Sacred Heart

Honouring Our Yoni

Erotic Aliveness

Shadow Self / Wild Woman

Goddess Warrior Self

Crown / Sovereignty

Gifts / Passion / Calling

Women can enter anywhere.

Because women are not linear.

We are cyclical.
Layered.
Contradictory.
Wild.
Tender.
Visible.
Hidden.
Emerging.

And perhaps that is one of the deepest truths I have come to understand through this work:

Every woman carries:
Visible parts of herself.
Hidden parts of herself.
Emerging parts of herself.

The visible.
The hidden.
The emerging.

The paintings tell the story long before words do.

And what I witness again and again is this:

When women are given enough safety, spaciousness, creative freedom, attuned response and relational holding, something innate begins unfolding from within them naturally.

Not because they are pushed.

But because more of them is finally allowed to exist.

If something in you recognises itself here, you are welcome to get in touch.

Planet Kas remains the secure base, holding a library rich in self paced experiences for all Woman and I work with women in my studio in SW Scotland or via Zoom.

On May 9th we begin a special 12 week online experience called WOMB Where I Came From.  No lives.  You can access everything via my website and share and connect in my online group during the 12 weeks.  There is still a few days left to join.

Love,
Kas
