For years people have asked me:
"What is it that you actually do Kas?"
I've answered...
Counselling. Psychotherapy. Transformative Coaching.
Online Courses.
Group work.
Therapeutic Art. Journaling and Writing.
Women's circles.
Planet Kas.
None of those answers were ever truly accurate.
Finally, something clicked and I realised...
I don't simply offer counselling. Or courses. Or conversations.
I offer
a particular way of being
with women.
Everything I have lived, everything I have learned, everything I have questioned,
everything counselling, psychotherapy, supervision, personal therapy, creativity and life have given me,
I bring with me into every conversation, every course, every painting day, every email, every blog, every reply
and every woman I accompany.
Whether a woman meets me in my studio...
inside Planet Kas... at a painting day... or in a simple reply to a Facebook post...
She meets the same woman - me... Kas.
The setting changes, but I don't and perhaps that's why women often tell me,
"I've never experienced anything like this before."
Not because I'm extraordinary.
But because so many women have spent their lives believing they had to become extraordinarily capable simply to cope.
No wonder they became so capable.
No wonder they never made a fuss.
No wonder they became so responsible.
No wonder they forgot how to lean.
I don't applaud those survival strategies. I understand them.
Then I accompany the woman beneath them.
I offer spaces where she no longer has to perform...
or hide... or become smaller... or earn her place.
Gradually, she begins to discover something she may not have experienced for a very long time.
What it feels like to simply be herself.
I don't offer this because I want women to need me.
Quite the opposite.
I offer it because I've watched what happens when a woman experiences a space where she doesn't have to earn love...
perform... shrink... or hide.
Gradually... she begins to hear herself.
She begins to trust herself.
She begins to notice what she wants.
She begins to say no.
She begins to say yes.
She laughs more.
Creates more.
Rests more.
Lives more.
She doesn't become who I want her to be.
She becomes more fully herself.
That has always been the point.
Everything I've written about here lives at the Heart of Planet Kas.
The courses, conversations, painting, writing, women's circles and everything else
are simply different ways of offering this particular way of being with women.
